Eric joined VCPI in March of 2022, bringing decades of experience and expertise in educational research, content development, and leadership to our public safety educational initiatives. With a keen ability to condense complex topics into relatable, understandable concepts, Eric is an invaluable addition to our content development team.  

From high school teacher to tenured professor, and from collegiate administration to instructional designer, Eric’s 30-year career has spanned the educational spectrum, providing him with unique insight on strategies, content, and practices that engage students, help them develop their own tools for learning, and achieve institutional goals.  

He holds a doctorate in education and a master’s in teaching from the University of Louisville and a bachelor’s degree in evolutionary ecology from Brown University.   

Away from work, Eric is a loving husband and father and an avid endurance athlete. He lives with his spouse, three children, dog and cat in Henrico, Virginia.
